Reboot Loop at Post

Question

I just received my new Dim E510. I have had a problem with intermitent reboot loop at post. I get the BIOS load screen and then see the configuration screen for the DataSafe RAID and then hear a click and system reboots.

This is not a constant problem but happens ocassionally. Any help?

have you tried booting in to safe mode?  If this works it would give you a chance to try to find the problem.

I don't get far enough to boot to safe mode.  The 510 reboots before Windows starts loading and before I can even get into the BIOS config utility.

hi, you said above the computer gets to the BIOS load screen. For this reason I would have thought you could get to safe mode. In order to boot to safe mode have you tried this - literally as you power on the pc start pressing F8 (tho don't keep your finger on the F8 key, press it 3 or 4 times). This reboot is something that can happen because of an issue with a driver, so if you could get to safe mode it loads with minimal drivers. If nothing then went wrong it would more than likely be a bad driver and you would have to investigate. If you got to safe mode and it still happened, then there would be a few other possible causes - a memory issue for example, or hard drive trouble. However, you say you have just received the computer so as it is brand new I would be inclined to have a word with tech support. Sorry I can't be of more help at the moment.
