Overview of subject
You don't need high end graphics for what you want to do. (saving money)
3GHZ P4 area will do.
Hard drive space (you need plenty but it is very cheap today). I would add a second large drive after purchase.
Memory 1 GB to start (reach that with after purchase upgrade if it will save money). Number of slots important to avoid removing memory to upgrade.
Should be $1000 or less (built one for $850 a month ago).
17" LCD - prices are down $300 area.
Best software for video needs - hope others will help, not my area.
Enjoy - great use for a computer
