Sometimes this can be caused by a dead CMOS battery. In most systems (you didn't indicate what model computer you had) this is a CR2032 and can be found at any drug store.

Thanks Muto: I have one hard drive which I beleive is a Sata .I have two CD/DVD drives which are IDE drives and I have an external "A" Floppy drive(.USB connected) The errors started right after I instalalled anew CD/DVD IDE drive. The new drive is a BUSLINK ASUS DVD burner. DRW 1647.The original drive that came with the computer is HL-DT-ST-DVD-ROM GDR8164B. I have the original drive as master and the new drive as slave. What will happen after I turn the these devices off. Will I still be able to use them or will I have to enable them after I restart my computer. As you can probably tell I am not to familiar with the BIOS and the CMOS battery.
