Reinstalling Bluetooth?
Inspiron 530 running Vista
Bluetooth mouse and keyboard have worked OK with supplied USB Bluetooth dongle sine I got the PC a few months ago. I wanted to use the Belkin Class 1 Bluetooth USB dongle to give greater range. I installed this, but mouse and keyboard stopped working. I've uninstalled the Belkin, but keyboard and mouse still don't work - I'm using an old USB mouse for now. Unfortunately, I'm not sure exactly what I've done and in what order. The Connection program does see the mouse and keyboard, but they still don't work. Tried all the usual troubleshooting stuff.
ETA: The Bluetooth itself does work OK because I have it paired with my phone.
Talked to Tech Support today, but they eventually thought I needed a new keyboard and mouse. I doubt this will make any difference. I think the original Bluetooth software and drivers need to be re-installed. I have tried this, but Vista can't find the drivers.
Any suggestions as to how to re-install? Any other suggestions to fix this? Can I simply uninstall Setpoint and delete the device drivers for Bluetooth in the Device Manager and start again? How about I delete them and re-install the Belkin Bluetooth instead?
Any one else had similar problems?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
