Remote Sensor Indicator

Question

Dumb question -- should the green light on the remote sensor be lit to indicate communication with the wireless keyboard and mouse in a Dimension 8300 system?  The mouse seems to be a bit jumpy lately, a bit erratic.  I've replaced the batteries, re-synced, etc., but the light sensor remains unlit.   Thanks for your reply!

The mouse is showing light after replacing the battery, but remote sensor has no indication seem not working. Please help how the replacement.
