removing exe file from program files

Question

My son downloaded a file that will not allow to remove it.I removed it from add/remove programs.When I locate it in file search it will not allow me to remove it says it is write protected.What next?

If it is a well behaved file (not a Trojan or spyware), and you are using XP, right click the file and select properties.  Make sure the read-only tick box is deselected.  If it isn't well behaved, you may need a more complex procedure; post details of the filename or Google for it to see what it mught be...

Golfme2, also check out this other forum discussion found by click here.  The solutions offered have worked for others I have sent there although from the feedback I get the MoveOnBoot program seems to be the most popular solution.
