resolution settings problem

I hope someone can help me, I can't get my resolutions setting to go any higher than 640x480 & so when I go to a website like pogo.com to play online games I can't get the whole picture only half, I have tried everything from all resources on my control panel, I need to know if I need a bigger monitor or is there a graphics card that I need to download, any response greatly appreciated!

Crystal ball tells me you reinstalled your operating system and forgot to install the video drivers. If you go to your support home page, you can download them and install them. Here's how to find the the support home page for your system. Click Desktops above, then enter your service tag number. The drop-down list will allow you to access downloads. Bookmark this page so you can access it any time.

If you pick Reinstallation Guide from the drop down list, you'll be able to find the instructions to install your video drivers.

In addition to what osprey4 suggests, you might want to install the chipset driver as well if you re-installed windows along with the video card driver.  We can help further, if you tell us what model system you got

Yes, good point. There's probably more than one driver missing.

What installation card are you referring to  ?  Video by chance ?  You probabley have without a doubt the integrated video chip, not a video card and if you ever want to play some games bettter, not great, you will need perhaps a PCI slot video card in the range of the FX5500 or even the 6200 card just out.  Hope this is what you are asking.  If not, let us know

I encourage you to follow my instructions above to locate your reinstallation guide. That way, the next time you go through the process, you'll have the link to find it quickly.

The driver downloads can be found here. There are a few video driver options. Only you can determine which one is needed for your system.
