Return question - to format or not?

Hello all,

I have a Dell XPS730, which i am returning back to Dell due to ongoing technical problems, for a refund.

However, i am not sure wheather i should format and restore the PC back to factory settings before handing it back, (when the come to collect it), or just leave it as is, and uninstall my appliactions, (Office, etc,)?

Only things that concern me is that i have shopped online on this PC, so might be trackable if i dont format and restore factory settings?

Thanks and look forward to replies.

percy77; Welcome to DCF

Just to be sure, I would format it (Do a Dell Restore), even though I know that Dell will do it too.

Afterall it is YOUR personal info you should be worried about!

Wipe it... Wipe it... can't trust anyone these days. I won't even bother with a Dell restore just a straight up wipe of the entire hard drive

Hello,

That will not work unless you point them to some program.

Assuming that Windows is installed on the C drive/partition, Windows will not let you format the partition it is installed on.

I would suggest the easy way as the OP suggested. Use the Dell restore CD.
