S-Video problem - repost - solution didn't work
I posted several days ago. I have a Dimension 8300 with an NVidia FX GeForce 5200 video card. I want to display the screen on my TV using the S-Video connector. "Stan" replied, suggesting that I download the latest driver and navigate to the display properties and enable multiple displays. I did not find an option on the device properties to enable multiple displays.
Significantly, I have connected 2 desktops (a Dimension 8200 and Inspiron 5100 as well as the 8300) and cannot get a TV picture from any of them. However, I know that the S-Video on the TV is working, because I can get a TV picture from my cable box. I know that at one time in the past I connected my computer to the TV with S-Video but it might have been a different TV and/or a different computer.
Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

Did you download the latest drivers from nVidia's website? If you did, you should definitely be able to see the option to enable output to two display devices.

BTW, you can always try connecting the PC to the TV only (also, did you make sure you selected the right input on the TV (e.g., Video 2, 3, or whatever is applicable for your S-video connection)).
Here is the URL of a site with some graphical description (although the drivers are a little different now and the options do not look exactly the same but you will get the idea).

Thanks, Stan. However, it still doesn't work.
I am certain that I am using the correct video in setting on the TV. I have been able to get a picture when I connect the cable box to that input.
I did download the lastest driver. The driver version is 6.14.10.4502.
On the extension tab to the left I see these four options:
Performance & Quality Settings
Overlay Controls
NVRotate
Refresh Rate Override
I do not see an nview display mode option. Is that the problem? Is there a way to bring that up?
I just ordered a new video card, e-GeForce 6200 256Mb AGP Graphics Card, to support my new 24-inch monitor. However, I haven't gotten it yet.

You shoud also have a Tools section. It has an option to force detection of the TV display (as well as a button to click to detect displays). Try it (unless you do not see such an option, of course). While not recommended, you may try downloading an old driver, the interface of which would look like what was described in the website.

The first thing to do is install the newest drivers.
