Bigmoney's plan is good it will work ..You can also make sure that you don't have programs running in the back ground.. make sure you turn off your screen savers and all the programs running in system tray like anti virus and any thing else you have there.. Then try it..

You can also do a( control, alt ,delete ) and end task on all except system tray and explorer..and try that way...

I run my PC in selective start up but that will take a lot more explaining..If you are interested in that let us know..

But like I said Bigmoney plan is a good one.. In safe mode you only get the basic's loaded so nothing is running in the back ground... Just wanted to let you know what other opitions there were...

My mind works like lightning one Brilliant flash and its gone!!!

Well to get scandisk to run , it is best run in safe mode.  When you restart the computer. Tap F8 about once a second till you get the boot menu.  Choose safe mode option, then try to run scan disk.

the youngs....

The offending file indicates it's part of an internet  mail accessing protocol (IMAP) program which is a method of accessing electronic mail or bulletin board messages that are kept on a  mail server.
For example, email stored on an IMAP server can be manipulated from a desktop computer at home, a workstation at the office, and a notebook computer while traveling. The "profiles" part indicates multiple users.

I'm not sure what part MS-DOS plays in all this, but it may have to something to do with file compression. By default, ScanDisk for Windows does not check for MS-DOS mode name length errors. ("..longer than 66 characters")

Much of this is from the MicroSoft KB:

To force ScanDisk for Windows to detect these errors, start ScanDisk....

Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/ScanDisk.

Click "Advanced". Select the "Report MS-DOS mode name length errors". This causes ScanDisk to detect folders that cannot be opened in MS-DOS mode because the MS-DOS patch is longer than 66 characters.

If you haven't selected the "Automatically Fix Errors" check box, ScanDisk  prompts you to ignore this error and continue, repair the error by moving the folder, or delete the affected folder. Note that the default action (regardless of whether the "Automatically Fix Errors" check box is selected) is to ignore this error and continue.
