Scanners can be a big headache sometimes. I cannot offer much help here but will say that if this scanner/printer/copier is connected to the USB port and you also have a USB webcam sometimes when you install a new device it will copy it's own USB driver and mess up a scanner driver. I would start by uninstalling the webcam. Removing it completely. Then reboot and see what happens. You may have to roll back the USB driver under drive details for this whole combination unit. If that don't work it may come down to then uninstalling the HP 1610 completely and reboot. Then reinstall the whole thing again. Maybe someone else has a better idea.
