script error/memory error Help!!

When I first turn on my computer a "Driver Memory Error" comes up at the bottom of the screen in the information section and then a box "Internet Explorer Script Error" comes up on the screen . What does this mean? How do I repair and is that is what is causing my computer to say "illegal operation occured and will shut down" it happens when working on several programs especially 'Home Publishing 2000' and the computer turns off the program I am running and goesback to the opening/start up screen. What can I do?
