several question regarding update drivers
hello,
just to make quick, since yesterday i am doing windows update and other need stuff...
at first the computer really not stable, i got several BSOD errors and stucked when shutting down the pc...
but now somehow the pc stable enuf, after using driver update that i get from dell download page + windows update
now i have several question regarding X-Fi driver + nvidia mobo + graphic driver
1. about X-Fi driver, just make sure it updated to latest driver, i check dell download page but no update for the soundcard, so i decide to check creative soundcard, at first i am confused what type of soundcard that my system use, from what i read within this forum its high posibility that my system came with xtreme gamer x-fi, just to make sure i check the soundcard board and somehow it sameto X-FI xtreme audio PCIex, as thats the only one PCIexpress card available currently on creative site... so i decide to download xtreme audio card driver...
on install process... suddenly i got error message saying "no compatible device installed .. make sure blablabla" , i havent check whether xtreme gamer driver works or not though
anyway i hope someone can clarify me how to upgrade my sound card driver...
note : i didnt install the one on windows update as from i read from this forum it give issue after installation
2. almost same to 1st question, about mobo and graphic card driver...
should i wait dell driver ? which seems updated really slow... or i can use driver that available on nvidia site ... my graphic card is 9800GT (planning to replace with better one soon though) it seems nvidia didnt provide driver for my graphic... since9800GT is oem only right ?
i have looking through this forum, but somehow i didn't find the answer clearly...like http://www.dellcommunity.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=Tech_Talk_XPS&thread.id=70758 --> this instructions only for XPS610 right? correct me if i wrong...
hopefully Chris or someone in this forum can help me giving some clarification about how to update those drivers...
thanks before

toronto699 thanks again for the reply
my system is xps730 (Q9550 . 9800GT . the rest is standard custom)
its glad that the x-fi soundcard i receive is x-fi gamer rather than audio...
on dell billingstatement it written Creative Xtreme Audio !!
i just kinda curious whether there is real different between 2 cards (x-fi gamer and x-fi audio)
from what i see, its more to software driver rather than chipset...
like what we see on creative site the only available PCIx x-fi soundcard is xtreme audio right
well i dunno whether the card came on xps system is oem card like 9800GT

The Extremegamer is a better card, the one u have is a Dell OEM card . u can install the Xtremegamer driver and updated software apps from Creative driver page for the xtremegamer
new software was released recently just check the release dates
