According to the manual HERE there is a separate USB 3.0 panel on the front of the PC, if it was ordered with the optional USB 3.0.   If you didn't order the 3.0 option then you don't have it.

They are all High Speed USB 2.0  Not all provide 500ma power per port however.

The XPS 9100 ports on the back provide full power.

USB Super Speed 3.0 comes from optional renesas card.

What maximum speed was finally chosen for the USB 2.0 spec?
The USB 2.0 specification has a design data rate of 480 mega bits per second.

SuperSpeed USB has a 5 Gbps signaling rate offering 10x performance increase over Hi-Speed USB.

Thanks for the response fireberd. I do have a USB port on the top front of the unit. I guess that is th hi-speed port which I was using for my scanner. . My scanner just stopped working - the computer can't find it so I was trying other USB ports. I tried "find a device" etc, nothing has worked yet. Perhaps its time for a new scanner....
