SM Bus Controller
Dear friends,
My system is Dell 8300, P4 3.06 GH, 128MN ATi Video card, 120 GB disk.
Recently re-installed, do not spot any problem so far, except in Device Manager, I see a yellow question mark next to the one called "SM Bus Controller", which I can't finf any driver on the supplied disks.
It's very hard to contact Dell through the net as usual, could someone tell me what that SM Bus Controller is for, and how to get that driver on Dell site, its name ...or how to make it disappear without harming the system !!!!

Thanks to a reply from a friend in another Dell forum, I've done it. Yes, that is the chipset drivers problem, just wonder why Dell did not include that one on the supplied dsik.
Thanks for replying.

the controller drivers are not installed with the XP installation and need to be installed after the reinstallation of an OS here is the proper sequence to do this.
chipset>video>audio>nic/modem>and other drivers i.e. printers,scanners,fax,and etc.
