Software Conflict??

I started a thread earlier about this problem, not sure what I can do to correct it. When I turn on the computer: The MSN Explorer icon loads on the tray first, it did not use to. A little bit later the MSN sign in screen pops up. Everything else boots up normally except Norton Internet Security with Antivirus, it will not load up. The MSN sign in screen will not close, it keeps popping back up, but it WILL  minimize. The NAV will not load if I click on the desktop icon. HOWEVER, when I click to sign on to MSN, it rings, authorizes, then goes directly to the 2nd sign in attempt. On the 3rd attempt, the connection is made, the little monitors appear on the tray, along with the green globe of Internet Security. The globe also appears along the right margin like it should. From this point everything seems to work fine, and I am able to pull up the NAV screen and everything is reported as working OK. I'm sure the problem is being caused by the Norton program in some way. Can anyone think of what might be causing this and some kind of fix. I could remove and replace, but I only have the disk for 2002 version, and to update to 2003 is a 71 Meg dial up download. I have found a few weeks ago that a system restore (Windows ME) will corrupt the virus definitions, leaving no choice but to remove or replace. Since it is more of an annoyance than anything else, I probably should leave it alone, but am asking if changing some settings might solve the problem
