The 8700 has an MSATA slot and Sata hard drive connections.
There are many brands. Sata 3 is a theoretical speed not a guaranteed spec. Joes crab shack SSD's are not supported, or compatible. There are many good brands from INTEL, Samsung, Crucial, etc but the forum does not validate every brand on earth with every model sold by dell.
