startup problem w/8300

Question

I have a dimension 8300 w/ bios a05. When i restart, it stops duing startup and says:   primary sata 0 not found secondary sata 0 not found.   hit f1 to continue or f2 for setup utility.   i have upgraded the bios w/a download from here to A07, but it still does the same thing   any thoughts??   fullspeed

are you using a SATA or an IDE hard hard drive?  If you are using IDE, then disable the SATA controllers in BIOS.  (Hint, if the system will boot pressing F1, the HDD is IDE)

ok, i turned off the sata things in the setup but it still did the same thing....not sure what the prob is
