Stripes down the screen?
Alright, I first got this problem playing world of warcraft and there was nothing i did differently to prompt this problem. These white stripes would appear down the screen and then a ton of big white pixelated squares appear and the computer crashes. When I try to reboot it keeps rebooting itself. Occassionally if I left the computer off for a few days it would boot normally, so I updated the video drivers when I could and that didn't work. Just now I was able to get into command prompt and formatted the entire drive. When I rebooted after that it was fine.. for 10 seconds and the stripes came back again. Right now there's nothing installed on my computer, no OS, and I still get this problem. PLEASE HELP!

This problem fixes itself every once and a while so I feel like the problem is not that the vid card is permanently damaged but very likely there are problems with it. Could I just stick a giant fan by the vent and leave it on haha?
Anyways, please get back to me on this, really appreciate the help!

World of Warcraft didn't cause the problem. Your graphics card (whatever it is) is probably overheating or is already fried.
Please give your system specs or service tag number and we'll try to sort you through this.
Good Luck

The service tag number would be on the side of your Dell.
