SX270 post-Sysprep video
The system in question is a SX270 (BIOS A03) with the Intel graphics card on Windows XP. The video driver is the latest and I have verified that the driver indeed works. The image was created on a GX1 with ACPI disabled. After SysPrep goes through mini-setup, the system locks up and the screen is blank, but on (meaning there is a signal from the computer). In order to get the system to come up, I must go into safe mode. If I do not load any driver via Sysprep, the computer will boot up and you can see the video, although locked at 640 x 480. If I include a driver that the SX recognizes as intended for install, it does not seem to fully install the driver. All of the files seem to be there, but some are not listed as certified. After going in via safe mode and reinstalling the driver, all is fine.
We have about 50 of these that I am about to load and install once I get the image straight, so I would love for the drivers to come up correctly out of sysprep. Any ideas on this?

The issue seems to be with the different Intel drivers. I have confirmed that the SX will work fine when it is the only Intel driver being loaded as does the C400. Once I add the C400 drivers and SX drivers to the image, neither will work. The interesting thing is, the C400 seems to work fine with the SX driver, although Dell does not state that the SX driver is for the C400.
Now I am wondering if there will be an issue with the other Intel drivers.

All systems that are highly likely to be affected are:
Latitude C400 (Confirmed problem)
Latitude D400
Latitude X200
Latitude X300
Optiplex GX260
Optiplex GX270
Optiplex SX270 (Confirmed problem)

Well, it does not seem that Dell is able to help, even after the effort of our sales rep. It looks like my technicians will be forced to install the video drivers for the C400, D400, X200, X300, GX260, GX270, and SX270.
I hope that Dell and Intel in the future can design their drivers to not cause these conflicts.

Has anyone gotten this to work? I am attempting sysprep image for the C400 and the X300. Everything is fne except the the C400 video where the driver never loads successfully. Thanks, Jim.
