Dbl click on time in bottom taskbar >> Time and Time Properties >> Tab-Internet Time >> Uncheck Box next to "Automatically Synchronize With Time Server"
You're not alone......checkout all the other posts with the same complaint. Try this: Rocket Time......it's free, resets clock automatically as you like and really works.
I had that problem whenever Internet Time Synchronization was enabledon my XP system I found the answer was to reset the time service to default settings with the following commands from a Dos prompt:
Net stop w32time
w32tm /unregister (Repeat if you get access denied)
w32tm /register
net start w32time
I reset the clock like you suggested, turned off the automatic internet sync in XP and installed rocket time. So far, so good. I'm relieved to see it is most likely a software problem.
