I was playing a game, counter-strike, and my computer was running fine, then all the sudden my fps dropped to about 15 from 100.  Then my computer shutoff, so i restarted, but about 10 secs after i restarted and windows was loading it shutoff again.  It did this about 10 more times.  Later i could get into windows but my computer hasn't been running well since.  I formatted my hard drive, and it still is slow.  All the programs load slowly and in games i get low fps.  I know its not my graphics card, because i have two- integrated and nvidia fx5200 and with either one my computer is slow.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?  I want my computer to be back to normal.

I would try pulling the new graphics card out and see if the FPS improves.  If it does I would suspect the card as being at fault.  You might also post a copy of your problem over in the Dimension - Video forum here to see if other people have experienced the same thing.  You never know, maybe someone else has had the problem and found a solution.

no its not my grahics card, i've taken it out and used the integrated and have the same results.  my computer is slower now too.  I've already posted this in the video forum. and i've reformatted so i know its somthing w/ hardware.  Thanks though.
