System time WAY WAY OFF with Windows XP

Hi,

I have a new Dimension 4400 with Windows XP and the system time is off 20 minutes an hour at least. I have tried the automatic syncronization that Windows XP has built-in and I have tried it not activated.

The time will syncronize properly automatically or by hand but within an hour the clock is 20 minutes behind.

I am currently in the Eastern US Time zone and yes I have my zone set correctly.

Anyone seen this?

Thanks,
Bob

I'm waiting for a response from Dell online support.
Please help?

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

I've already missed meetings because of this. Guess I need to get a watch!

Thanks!

The time patch that I gave will fix that problem so the person can synchronize the time.

Here's the fix...super easy.

Double click the time (lower right of screen)
Click "Internet Time" tab
Uncheck "automatically synchronize with an internet time server"
Click apply

done

Oh, wow! I was going to post about this.

I thought it was imagination regarding the time.....right now it was telling me it was 4:39PM CST....

And I had noticed that since I got my cable modem, 2 weeks ago, the time was getting further and further behind!

Thanks, also!
