What is it exactly that you are trying to accomplish? It would be nice to have more details including the version of Windows you are you running.

I'm running ME. When I left click to send out it takes a few seconds before it actually clicks, this happened once before and my friend reset the tcp/ip. I may not be using the correct terminology here. Apparently there is some kind of problem with the tcp connection??

What are you left clicking to send out? TCP/IP is a transfer protocol used in networking. I'm not sure what it has to do with "left clicking to senc out" and I don't know what you mean by resetting it. Take your time, and try to give us as much detail as you can about what your problem is. As you can see, without some detail it is very difficult to help you. It doesn't matter if you know the right terms or not, just try to explain your problem.

when I'm on the internet and I left click, it takes a few seconds for it to actually execute, much longer than it should. Say I click on a url it will take a few seconds before I actually hear the click and then it will execute, it's delayed. I believe I had the same problem once before and it had something to do with tcp/ip. My friend walked me through it but I can't remember what we did.

It is likely due to something running in the background and has nothing to do with resetting TCP/IP. Have you tried rebooting? Is the problem there immediately after a reboot? When the problem occurs, do a Cntrl-Alt-Delete and shut down all running programs, one by one, except systray and explorer. Reload Internet Explorer and see if the problem is still there. If it isn't, you know that one of the programs that you shut down was causing the problem. So that next time the problem occurs repeat the above process, but leave one of the programs running in the background in additon to systray and explorer. Keep track of the ones you eliminate each time until you find the culprit. Once you can identify the culprit, post back and we can tell you how to eliminate that program from running in the backgound.

As an alternative, you might want to eliminate all of the unnecessary stuff that runs in the backgound, and you might eliminate the problem that way. To see how to do this, see the following:

Thanks Steve, rebooting seems to have solved the problem, for now at least.

After thinking about this a while, my guess is that the program that is causing the problem is winmgmt, which is loaded by PCHealth. This collects information about your system and stores it in file describing the history of changes made to your system. It is supposed to run when if performs its task, and then it is supposed to exit. But I have heard of problmes where it continues to run, consumes resources, and slows the sytem down. If the problem occurs again, do a Cntrl-Alt-Delete and shutdown Winmgmt. It may take a minute for box to come up that says something like - Winmgmt is not responding. When the box comes up just tell it to close Winmgmt. See if the problem then goes away.

Thanks, I'll try that if need be.
