Tech support help

Does anyone know how to bypass tech support or just get them to give you an address to send your system to? I had a pre-existing problem which I thought was fixable, but now I have no idea what's wrong, I'm thinking that it's the motherboard. It's still under warrenty for another 2 months, and I just need to get their technians to deal with it. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think sending your computer back to them is a viable option at this point.

You must contact Dell technical support and try to have the issue resolved under warranty.  They will fix your problem not replace your computer.

No, I know that theyu won't give me a new computer, I don't want another one, I have countless files and things saved on my hard drive that I just want them to fix whatever is wrong with it. I was just wondering if anyone knew what to say to them so I don't have to go through the whole process of them trying to get me to try and fix it via phone support, because I've been through that already and it didn't work one bit.

Did you purchase from a retail store (such as Walmart, BestBuy and so forth)?

Is the computer a Vista system?

I have a Dimension 8400, it's about 4 years old, so no it only has XP, not Vista. I bought it direct from Dell sumer of '04, and got a 4 year warrenty, thank God.  It has all the original hardware and software, so nothing that can violate my warrenty, and I have only messed with what tech support has told me to.

I assume it is XP Home and not XP Professional.

There is a Service Pack 3. Is the problem with the software?

J,

Go here and explain what your problem, what Tech Support has done or not done for you, and how they can resolve this issue to your satisfaction. Do Not Beat Up Dell in your email, that will not help you, just state the facts.

No its not a software problem, its hardware. And yes I will try that link, but I need to call Dell and get some help, because I lost/deleted my confirmation code for the pre-existing problem.
