Tower Buzzing Noise

I have a Dimension XPS T600R, After turning the machine on, There

is a loud buzzing noise coming from the tower. I opened the tower

and the noise seems to be coming from the area where the Cd rom and

the Cd writer is housed. The buzzing noise gets louder and then fades

and back to loud again! A few times the buzzing has stopped after 20

minutes on the computer. Sometimes the buzzing never stops! If anyone

has a idea of what this might be, Could you holler back Please. Holler

Loudly  So i can hear you over this Buzzing. LOL!  Thank You in Adance!

See if this document can help you isolate the noise location.

Turnyour computer off, locate the internal speaker and unplug it. Restart, If you still hear the buzzing, then unplug the CDROM powersupply plug. If the buzzing stops, you probably have a bad CDROM. If the buzzing continues, turn off the computer and replace the powerplug for the CDROM, then unplug the CDRW. Start the computer and see if it stops, if it does you may have a bad CDRW.
