Unexplainable error messages...

I have been having a problem with my machine, almost since I've gotten it. Whenever I bring up programs such as Word or my Scanner software I get error messages that I am at a loss to find any explanation to. Can you help? I would e-mail the massages here but from the looks of things, I doubt they would fit here.
