Unknown disk utility

I'm trying to defrag my disk.  It says that an unknown utility has drive C:/ blocked.  How do I detect what it is and how do I remove it?

Thanks

I also have Norton Systemsworks and tried to run their defrag utility, and I get the same message. Unable to operate on Drive C: because it is in use by an uknown utility.

when was the last time you cleaned your system out and did a clean install........I do my macine every 6-9 months...it keeps it running smooth and fast..also helps get rid of orphaned files left over from programs installed and uninstalled.....I would do a clean install if its been more than 9 months if I was you.....you would gain a buch of performance
