update floppy
Hello
I need to transfer piks of grandchildren from old flpoppies to dvd's.
Floppy is not working so I uninstalled it but made the goof of reinstalling the old one from disc and think i need to get the latest for xp.
I have Dell Dimension 4600, xp home, sp3
I want to avoid the robot if possible. How do I get my driver as I don't know what it is called or where to look. I have tried the Dell site but I need help please.

I hope I do not have my 'email notifification' set up wrong but I did not see your reply in my email as is typical of most of my forums. I only noticed it by coming her today and browsing. I will check.
I took the drive apart and screw by screw I found that by leaving out one of the several screws it works. The screw is the corner one on the rear of the drive itself.
I guess they get a lot of abuse and this will be an unexplained occurence unless you have another idea. It works with a screw missing but so do I ...
Thank you

Drivers for the floppy drive, are included in Windows XP and cannot be downloaded
All you need to do install the FD and start the PC.
Check that the 'Diskette Drive' is Enabled [on] and recognized in the BIOS [System Setup].
Dimension 4600 System Setup
What is 'the robot'?
