thanks for the info... i am not even sure yet if i will need a power supply, because now people are telling me that i can run a 9800 radeon card just fine on my 250 watt power supply. is it risky to try and use, say, a sapphire radeon 9800 256 mb 256 bit card with my 250 watt power supply? will it damage anything?

thanks a lot

That powersupply should fit the 4600 case OK. The wiring will most likely be a little longer than the Dell. What concerns me is the price. This is far below the cost of namebrand powersupplies of the same wattage. A cheap powersupply is not always a good deal as they don't always follow ATX specifications. The actual wattage may be maximum where most reputable powersupply makers rate theirs at 65-70% of the maximum. Also their maximum may be at a much lower temp than a namebrand powersupply. This could result in low voltages when the powersuypply is fully loaded. Fortron/Sparkle(same powersupply) and  Antec are excellent for the price. PP&C are excellent but are overpriced.

You can try the 250W powersupply and see if you have problems. Dell computers are very conservative using power. They don't have a bunch of fans llike aftermarket cases.
