you have to buy an adapter that goes from 423 to 478 socket I think they are still around on ebay also you might find on ebay a 2.8 400fsb cpu. (SL7EY) new at least they were there last month

I believe the powerleap adapters were for socket 478 processors.
 
according to this thread you can run the 423 pin 2.0 ghz, which is the max for that pc.

I disagree with you momodog that 8100 will take a cpu 2.8 fsb 400  SL7EY  using the converter423 to 478 and I think they are still on ebay

You misunderstood my post, rightly so,  I did not mean to say they could not use the adapter, rather the OP could do what they were asking and did not need the adapter to do so. I should be more clear.
