usb controller driver win 2000
I changed my operating system from XP to Win 2000 Prof. Had to reload all
the Drivers where Yellow ? was there in Device manager.
I still have ? infront of USB Controller. I could not locate
Drivers to load for these devices. Please suggest what to do.
Its dimention 4550 brand New with XP originally.

You can get USB 2.0 drivers for Windows 2000 here. Enter driver for username and all for password in order to download the file.

Thanks, Looks like this should work. Just one more query, how will i get the .Inf file. The file got extracted automatically and i do not see that extension in any of the files.

Double-click the .cab file and it will open. One of the files contained inside is usb2.inf. What I usually do when installing USB 2.0 support using the download from DriverGuide.com is create a new folder called USB2 and copy all the files contained within the .cab into it. After that it's just a matter of running the Windows hardware wizard to update the USB controller driver, pointing to the USB2 folder then specifying the usb2.inf file.

Thanks, Did install the Drivers but somwhow the USB Port is still not working with USB Devices. It does not even detect. All System components are OK now with no problem in Device manager. It is a new Dimension 4550 where i changed the operating system from XP to Win2000.
Any suggestions???

I found out some interesting information, though, about Windows 2000 and USB drivers. Go to this link:

I haven't tried it, yet, but I'll let you know if it works.
