Rugbymonk,
I had the same problem when I changed USB ports. All I had to do was uninstall and reinstall my printer and one of my digital cameras. As soon as I did that, all USB ports work fine! Try that and see if it works for you!

p.s. Have you ever used a "splitter" (for lack of a better word) to permit several USB's devices into one port? I saw one at Radio Shack....
