Using C521 on its side

Question

I plan on purchasing a Dimmension C521 and was wondering if its OK to use this machine while laying it down on its side rather than standing it up.  Thanks in advance for any advice.

The only problem I can foresee is the optical drives.  Most drives are meant to have the compact disc in a horizontal position unless the disc tray has the little locking tabs on it.
