using dsr fix

in short i installed vista ultimate over my dell installed media centre. this trashed the ctrl/f11 utility.
looking at the forums for the other operating systems i gather that you can load win98se boot disc and the dsr fix. and this will repair the functionso it is workable again.
i tried the 98 boot disc but it didn't work . is there another boot disc i can use that works on vista.
i haven't got a floppy drive so it has to be an image file
many thanks

Did you reformat and install Vista, or did you do it as an upgrade? Isn't the upgrade supposed to have an option to reverse the upgrade and go back to XP?

Ctrl-F11 doesn't work on Dell systems with Vista. The PC Restore option is moved to the F8 menu. Don't know if that's true for systems which have been upgraded from XP, but that's a place to start.

On F8 menu in Vista, select "Repair Your Computer" and press Enter.
The System Recovery Options window appears. (maybe!)

If that doesn't do it, read to see if you can rescue the XP PC Restore feature:
