razor2002,
I am assuming that you have a workstation 220, because that is the only precision system that required a VRM add-in card. If you purchase a 2nd processor kit from Dell, the VRM should be included. Unfortunately, the VRM is not available by itself, but only as a 2nd processor kit. I would suggest contacting your salesperson about purchasing the 2nd processor upgrade kit.
Where do I get that '2nd processor kit' you mentioned? Do you have any URL or similar? I've searched through the Dell site, but can't find anyplace to buy CPUs or any information about VRMs.
RE: part number 11GEF as a VRM for the Precision 220
I got the part and it DIDN'T WORK.
I called two seperate tech support people, and each individually confirmed that the voltage regulator module that I really need is part number 7649D. It's on it's way, and i'll keep the message board posted. Still costs $19.95. Sorry for any inconvienience that was caused by my previous post.
Just an FYI if anyone is still thinking about upgrading these systems:
a tech told me my VRM order would not be scheduled to ship out until MAY 2004 (yes, that's FIVE MONTHS). Might have better luck salvaging one off another system than waiting for Dell.

They are out there but so is the price. How about $89.95? At this link http://store.yahoo.com/parts4dell/7649d.html
