What Happends To Programs...
WOW! Thanks everyone for the great feedback!
Anyway, I'm running Windows XP and I did see the system restore function... my question is... if you do a system restore and it puts your computer back to a certain set point what does it do with the programs that were installed? Does it delete them or do they reside somewhere on the computer still... and if so should those folders be trashed after the restore? I don't want any of these files taking up valuable RAM.
Thanks again for your great help... it's nice to know that you people are here and that you know so much.
Thanks,
Todd

Thank you for using the DellTalk forum.
System restore will delete any program entries or registry
entries for any software that was installed after the date
you choose to restore to. But, it will leave the install folder
and the files in the folder, on your hard drive.
For Example:
I had installed several games, (Red Faction) (Mech Warrior 4)
and so on. Then the system crashed, and I had to use system restore, and choose a date before I had installed the games. System restore removed all registry entries for those games, and program entries as well. But, it left the install folder on my hard drive, and the saved game files. So, once I had restored the system I just reinstalled the game to the same folder, and I still had my saved game files to use.
I hope this helps.

Yes, you can trash those folders and files if you
do not want to keep them.
