Win 10 INTERNAL_POWER_ERROR Loop - Inspiron One 2330
Inspiron One 2330, Dual Core i7-3770S 3.10GHz/3.10Ghz, 8 GB RAM
Computer worked flawlessly/without issue prior to what I'll describe here.
Have installed Win 10 under a number of scenarios, including a complete format of the hard drive. In all cases, I get a persistent INTERNAL_POWER_ERROR (even *during* a completely clean, freshly formatted Win 10 install booted off of a USB). Formatted again, installed Win 8 and the computer again worked flawlessly. Upgraded to 8.1 and then 8.1 Pro, computer worked flawlessly. Have tried multiple iterations of 64-bit (where I started originally) and 32-bit.
The installation recovery within Win 10 means that I have been able to get Win 10 installed and activated, but not without the BSOD -- sometimes within a minute after logging in, while other times, the computer will run for several minutes. Same details for each BSOD:
0x000000a0 (0x00000608, 0x949df898, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
I've followed every bit of advice I've been able to find online -- setting the hibernation file to 100 percent, turning off hibernation, disabling the AMD and INTEL graphics drivers, disabling and then installing the new AMD drivers from their Web site, etc. etc. etc. Given that the computer works without issue in Win 8 and Win 8.1, I'm left to suspect this is a hardware issue (as opposed to an issue with Win 10), especially in light of the number of people who said an update to their AMD graphics driver solved the problem
When I disable both the newly updated AMD graphics driver (AMD Radeon 7600A Series) and the Intel graphics driver (Intel HD Graphics 4000), the system appears to stabilize -- at least for the last 20 minutes. Note the 32-bit install is stable.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Exact same problem. Nothing worked except disabling AMD driver and disabling the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter that appeared in the Device Manager after i deleted the AMD driver.
Please advise.

Looks like the AMD graphics driver is the problem. With the driver disabled, my Win 10 install has been completely stable.
Also, when using Dell's support site this morning, I noticed a new message has been added to the screen when I use the automated System Analysis tool on support.dell.com. While the top banner says that Dell has tested my product to confirm that it can upgrade to Windows 10, the lower banner, which wasn't there until today, says otherwise.
Not trying to flame Dell here, but this will be the last Dell computer that I purchase, as I've never had a smooth upgrade experience on the five Dells I've owned since 2006.

I saw yesterday in an AMD support group that they recognize there is a problem and are working to develop a fix to be released via Windows Update, so that's a bit of good news. I have AMD's auto detect utility saved on my desktop, and my plan is to check it once a day to see if the new driver has been released.

Thank you. If it's not too much trouble, please let me know here when the fix is out. I have all AMD updates disabled on Windows updatews for now. :)

i actually managed to resolve the issue by following this AMD forum recommendation:
1. Uninstall AMD Catalyst Control Center. For those with INTEL PROCESSORS, select Remove all AMD Software. For those with AMD PROCESSORS, uninstall only the Display Driver and the Catalyst Control Center.
2. If the driver wasn't removed; Uninstall the display driver manually by going to Start -> Right Clicking File Explorer -> Properties -> Device Manager. Go to Display Adaptors, right click the driver and select Uninstall.
3. Reboot your PC.
4. Download the latest Display Driver Uninstaller Download version 15.3.1.0 from Guru3D.com.
5. Reboot into Safe Mode. (Or try to execute the above program and it will ask if you wish to reboot into Safe Mode).
6. Run the DDU. Select "Clean and Restart".
7. Wait for it to do its job and your PC should restart.
8. Download and install AMD Radeon HD 7650A Driver from Dell Driver Support:

I have a laymans solution which worked for me after 4 days of INTERNAL_POWER_ERROR blue screens - Repeating every 25 minutes after start!!!!!!! and new installs of Windows 10 on my Inspiron 2330
A PERFECT NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!!
MY SOLUTION WORKS PERFECTLY!!!!!!
I removed all AMD programs installed completely.+ Atheros asav.
Started my pc without them and then dowloaded all updated files from the dell support site after their list for windows 10. they diagnose for you automatically which files work on your particular pc with windows 10. You will find both Atheros and AMD at that site...plus all other files to load down.
AMD Radeon HD 7650A Driver: Version 15.200.1040.0,A00 Release date:25Jul2015-Last Updated 30 Jul 2015 WORKS PERFECTLY - NO BLUE SCREEN LOOPS. All other AMD downloads do not work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..
Atheros works also!! Download all files in the right order of installation....... top of thesupport site klick on the title Installation order....and then donwnload all of them!!!!!!
My Inspiron thank god and dell support site is working well. Do not forget to make a copy of of all your new settings once everything works.
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

Phellix - all seems good. Followed your steps -- eight hours later, no BSODs since I enabled the AMD Radeon HD 7650A driver you pointed me to. My AMD auto detect utility is telling me that the AMD Catalyst 15.7.1 is the most up-to-date, but I'm not falling for it.
You saved the day, so THANK YOU!

Hi , I have the same Inspiron 2330 , and same issues with Windows 10.After trying earlier this week to get this resolved, spoke to Dell support , and the only solution they gave me was roll back to windows 7. I did this , all good again. My intention is to go back to windows 10 , but honestly cannot be bothered to uninstall drivers etc .Sounds like its too hard. Can someone let me know when an upgrade to Windows 10 works automatically without hassles. thanks

Thanks Barry. I wound back to windows 8.1. Too painful to keep re installing stuff. Lost internet connection too after four days. Wind back worked very well

Yes, rolling back to the previous OS is probably the best idea. I thought i had found a solution to the AMD driver compatibility issue (see above) because the BSOD did not reappear, but there were still slow boot issues i experienced and tried to resolve by following a variety of forum suggestions. The final result was that the machine would not boot at all anymore, no POST, no BOOT, just a dark screen with the fan running amok. A computer repair facility (Super Geeks) felt the video card must be broken, and since it is integrated, i ended up replacing the motherboard with a refurbished one i found on Amazon. This did not help. Computer still dead. At this point i lost interest and bought a new computer (HP). This was the most expensive free upgrade i ever made.
Great job Dell/AMD/Microsoft :(
You probably couldn't care less.

I had the EXACT same problem you are describing when I upgraded to Win10 back in July. I ended up reverting back to Win8.1. Do you know if the problem has been resolved? My latest AMD drivers are dated August 3, 2015. You wouldn't happen to have tried to use Win10 with those drivers yet have you?
