Windows XP CD...

Can I just buy a normal Dell Home SP2 CD from anyone and just use the CD key? This worked on my old Dell, but just checking.

If you intend to buy a Dell OEM XP-SP2 H/E reinstallation CD and use it in a Dell system, with the system's XP-SP2 H/E COA key, then you should be able too.

Yes, but you have two computers that have XP.  Why do you need to buy it?  Am I missing something?

Well, the other day, Windows was apparently missing a file after flashing the BIOS and wouldn't boot... At all... It worked after using Last Known Good Config, but at that point, I didn't know you had to press Ctrl+F11 to access the boot image. I would just like to have a CD. More convenient to me.

Then call, chat, or email Dell.  The CDs are free while you're in warranty.  There is no reason to buy the CDs.

Also, last known good config doesn't disable CTRL F11, it will still work.
