Hi,
I am sorry if this is not the right place to post this but to be honest i couldnt find a better one.
I just got a wireless keyboard and mouse (that came with my lcd screen 2405fpw). but i cant get the hotkeys to work.
The information on the keyboards page is:
Manufacturer Part# W0147
Dell Part #: 310-4170
(http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=310-4170&category_id=5370)
Thanks a lot
J

type in: services.msc
click ok
Look on the list that appears for Human Interface Devices (HID). Right-click it and select properties. Make sure it's set at least to manual. The default setting is disabled. Exit services.msc and reboot. Fixed? If not, try setting to automatic and reboot.
"HID activates and maintains predefined hot buttons on keyboards, remote controls, and other multimedia devices. If this service is stopped, hot buttons controlled by this service will no longer function. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start. Some peripherals require this service. Internet keyboards with volume and play control buttons, scanners with fax or copy buttons."

Go to microsoft.com and download (free) Tweak UI. It's a little application that lets you easily change all kinds of things in XP. Run Tweak UI and click Explorer in lefthand panel to expand the list and click Command Keys. Select the hotkey in the list on the right, click Change button and see if you can activate it the way you want from there.

So I, too, am at a loss at what to do. I did discover that my CD did not load any drivers or applications really.

I had a problem with my comp. and switched back to 2000. The web site says that the keyboard only works for XP, so i think that's it for me :(
on the bright side, the hotkeys work fine under Linux :)

I use Microsoft Tweak UI v2.10.0.0 "for XP SP1 and higher and Windows Server 2003".
You can find a download link on right side of this page:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
There are also links for other useful XP powertoys there too.
