Wireless keyboard
Hello
I have a new Studio Desktop 8100 that came with a wireless keyboard.I have no idea if the Caps lock is on until I type. With a wired keyboard you had the light come on.I did contact Tech Support, but was told it was a software issue and I have to call software support at a charge. Now i don't think that I should have to pay for help with a new system. Can anyone help with my problem, perhaps it is just a tweak i have to do.Thnanks .

With a new system, usually you have 30 days of free software support. However, I would have expected the Tech Support to have handled this.
If you are in the US and not happy with the system or Dell's support keep in mind you have 21 days from the date of the invoice to contact customer service and get an RMA to return it. Otherwise after the 21 days it's yours to deal with.

Hi.
Got it sorted, after reading the VERY SMALL print that came with the keyboard,I found that I have to go to support and download a piece of software that allows an icon to appear to show CapsLock is on.Surprised Tech support did not know this. Just goes to show how much Dell have gone down the hill over the past.

That should have been included with the wireless keyboard, not something that had to be downloaded. But Dell Tech Support should have been aware of that. The "off shore" contract tech support has a very long way to go to equal the old Dell support, that really made Dell.

Could not agree with you more. I have always bought Dell.I am now retired but my company used Dell and they were left running 24/7 for years at a time and never any problem.I live in the UK and we used to get through to a help line in Ireland. Now that they have relocated to India.Nothing but problems.I have just bought 2 PCs. 1 laptop and 1 Desktop. The problems I have had with the call centre is unbeleivable. Although I still think Dell machines take some beating there call center is useless.
