Hello,

Start by looking Here.

Could be a bad hard drive, but the thermal shut down points to other issues.

  Hi again,

  Try this, unplug the system,

Remove and replace everything you can, like memory, all cards, all cables, anything that has a connection. Clean the entire inside of the system with a can of compressed air. Make triple sure that all the connections are well made.

This may well solve your issue. If not, and the drive itself is the problem, than no your data is lost unless you spend hundreds or dollars at a specialized recovery company.

Sorry.
