Zip File

Help Please! When I download a game (boxjam) it says "windows cannot find acc.wiz.exe. This program is needed for opening zip file." Then it asks for a location. What did I do wrong??? Thanks! You are the best place to ask for anything!!!

gina anne,

accwiz.exe is the accessiblilty wizard in Windows. Your system is looking for the wizard for some reason, but it's not finding it.

I would suggest you reinstall the Accessibility features, see if the error message goes away, then uninstall it if you don't need it. (It is about 4.5 MB in size.)

Here's how to reinstall it:

Put your Windows 98 CD in your CD drive. If it automatically starts, just cancel and exit.

Click Start | Settings | Control Panel
Click Add/Remove Programs
Click Windows Startup Tab
Check the Accessibility box to add a checkmark
Click apply and then OK
Click yes to restart your system.

If you decide to uninstall the Accessibility features later, repeat this process and remove the check next to Accessibility, then click ok and restart. Hope this works for you.

Hi Ron - Thanks for your help! I tried that but it brought me back to the reason I had originally deleted the acc wizard. This message says "there was a problem loading thefile specified when running the acc wizard". Any new ideas???Thanks!

I'm out of ideas. Sounds like a problem with the program. I don't know what boxjam is, so I don't know why it is trying to access the accessibility wizard. It seems to me if you have the accessibility features installed you shouldn't be getting the error unless there is a problem with the boxjam program. Sorry.
