Hmmmmm..........that's kinda' weird. Usually the amber/orange light is only when your battery's about to go. It's a pre-hibernate warning. If i's doing that while plugged in, I'd say it's a prob.
I have been having a similar problem with my 600m. The laptop is about a year old, but the problem started about a month ago. In addition to the light blinking amber (which doesn't stop), the battery gets extremely hot. If I unplug it from the wall, things are fine and the battery seems to be fully charged...
I have the same problem too. Usually I take out the battery when I use AC except Xmas holiday. It starts blinking red 3 times and green 1 time continuously last night. When I press the button on the battery, usually it indicates the remaining time of battery with all 5 lights the most or 1 light the least. Now it's so weird. Only the 1, 3, 5 lights on but 2, 4 lights do not on. I called up the Dell support center in Hong Kong but seems like they don't know what's the problem as well.
