6430U + D5000 scroll/type lag and video fullscreen issues
Hi,
I'm using the 6430U + D5000 and can connect wirelessly to my hub (which is connected to my HDMI monitor) fine. There are several problems I'm having with the HDMI monitor that only happen when being used through the D5000 wireless docking station (these problems don't exist when using a direct HDMI connection).
1. I can't view fullscreen videos on the external monitor (eg. from YouTube). Basically when I hit the fullscreen button, the monitor freezes on it's last image (but the sound continues), and I have to hit ESC to exit fullscreen for the monitor to resume working.
2. Occasionally in my browser (tried on both Google Chrome and IE), when typing in forms or trying to scroll through the page (using mouse wheel), the browser updates extremely slowly. It takes several seconds to respond with the letters I typed or for the page to scroll up/down.
It's not a general lag issue because it seems anything else runs totally fine, I can move windows around without lag, or play windowed videos without problems.
Connection Manager
Application/Supplicant version: 1.0.11.650
Driver: 270.0.0.0
Firmware: 0.0.1.3006
Dock Station firmware version: 0.0.1.2989
Any ideas?

I noticed Dell posted a much newer driver on their website: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails?driverId=3PF1J
Also, check out the content from Wilocity on their forum which has lots of useful howto: http://forum.wilocity.com/smf
The first issue you are describing may be due to resolution limitation of the dock. The second issue I heard was fixed with the version on Dell support site.
Enjoy,

Just tried out the new driver. It did not fix the problem. When I go to fullscreen the video just freezes up. I can still drag my browser window over to my laptop screen and go fullscreen and it works just fine, just not on the external monitor connected to the dock. And I'm still having problems where when I type into forms, the external monitor doesn't show what I typed in. I have to drag my window over to my laptop and voila, the text shows up.
None of these problems occur when I connect directly with HDMI port on the laptop. I've kind of just given up with the whole dock thing. It was a great idea, but just has WAY too many bugs.

Agreed, I have an E6430U and am having similar problems (and lots of others) with this machine. All the latest drivers etc. I am about done and am considering asking my company to RMA it back to Dell for a refund. Why the heck Dell ever went with this wireless dock junk I'll never know, the old E-docks worked just fine 100% of the time and I sorely miss them. There are way too many bugs here. DELL ARE YOU LISTENING?
