Just an update. The switch was causing my faulty screen. However, it is a very easy fix. The switch was actually cocking sideways do to the face plate being broke. The switch is held in place by two little snap hooks. One of those had been broken off. So I just pulled the plastic push switch out and everything is fine. All that switch is for is to put the computer into sleep mode when you close your computer. I have no need for it because I always shut down my computer to move it from van to house anyhow. So, there it is. Good luck with your problems and thanks for your help.
