8600 heat issues

Hi guys. I've posted before on these forums because of this problem and found a nifty solution to the heating issues in my inspiron 8600. It's basically the same problem. My system is still getting around 175 degrees Farhenheit. Obviously, it's not so much the processor, which is a centrino clocked at 1.8GHz, as it is the graphics card, a radeon 9600 mobile. I'm just hoping someone might know a way to really cool my system down without voiding my warranty. Thanks,

Falkram

I had the same heat issues, and downloaded the 18kfanGUI program. Basically, you can set fan speeds based on temperature, has a few different presets you can change around. Paired with a laptop cooling pad, I don't have anymore heat issues. Hopefully this can help you as much as it helped me. Good luck!

The other more permanent fix is to mod the cooling pad of the video card:

This web site gives step by step instructions with pictures, but you guessed it it voids you're waranty.
