a14 bios
my inspiron 6400 is 2 months old ,and under full warranty
my question is , if i upgrade my bios from a13 to a14 and it goes wrong does dell fix it?

ps . i think that wen it comes to an importent issu like bios that scares a lot of people that dell should do it under their wa:smileywink:rraty

The directions to create a bootable USB key can be found here http://www.bay-wolf.com/usbmemstick.htm.
Do not use CD-ROM support, seems to conflict with the flash...
Just move the .exe that you download from dell onto the USB key.
Reboot.
Tap F12 at the Dell Startup screen before the Windows loading screen to bring up the boot menu.
Use arrow keys to select "Removable USB drive" (something along those lines) and press enter.
At the command prompt type in the name of the .exe (MM016A14??) and hit enter. If you forget the name of it use the "dir" command.
The BIOS flash will begin.
