A15/A14/A13 Bios failed

Question

I get a file open fail platform.bin when I try to update from a flopy?    What do I need to do to update my bios?

I have an Inspiron 7500, PIII 700, 256 Ram, 9 G HD.  I have A12 Bios and want to up grade to A15 so I can install a 40 G HD or more.  I've downloaded A15 files, open them, it makes the floopy, and then I run the flash and before it does anything it says 'Cannot open platform.bin file'.  It never gets to loading initiatization file.  Hit any key to continue and quits.  There are six files on the floopy: 1I2Allo5, 21i4a15a.rom, Eye-D.exe, Phlash.exe, Rel_Note, and YNC.exe

Are you booting to the floppy and not running it out of XP?

Hi. The PLATFORM.BIN file is a DOS mode file. Since the PHLASH floppy is bootable, you are supposed to boot from it in order to run the bios flash program. Jim
