ADAPTER RECALL

Back in September 2004 My Inspiron 4150 AC adapter overheated.  When I picked it up after unplugging it I was startled by how hot it was.  After letting it cool off, I put it and my laptop away and didn't use it again until November 2004.  In November it powered up as expected but within a minute or so completely shut-off.  I turned it back on, it powered up and again shut-off on its own.  When I tried to power it back up the third time, nothing happened.  Completely dead.  After spending 2 hrs on the phone with Dell service department, removing every removable part, we were not able to determine the problem.  The assumption made was that it was the motherboard.
After telling a friend about this problem he advised me that Dell was recalling AC Adapters because of an overheating problem.  Wow!  Too good to be true!  Exactly....
Entering all the information required at delladapterprogram.com the information given back was that my adapter was not part of the recall.
I called Dell support.  After 1.5 hours on the phone and getting nothing but the "written scripts" read to me by every customer service agent I was transferred to nothing was resolved.  Being that you only had SEVEN REPORTED problems on the currently recalled adapter, and NOT A SINGLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT COULD AND/OR WOULD DIRECT ME TO THE RIGHT DEPARTMENT and/or CUSTOMER SERVICE REP that might be even slightly concerned that there are other AC Adapters overheating and obviously posing the same risk of fire and electrical shock hazards to your consumers.
My adapter information is as follows:  DS/N CN09364U-16291-2AK-013G --  DP/N 09364U\C/O CN/REV A00.
I had the adapter tested to see if it was putting out any power -- It is not.  Must be because it overheated and burned up.
Since I have now talked to every customer service department Dell has to no avail, any suggestions on how to have this issue addressed?

Firstly, it sounds like you have a flat battery, not a faulty mb. Your battery is probably flat because the ac adapter wasn't charging it. This is probably because the ac adapter is faulty. Now if the website came back and said your ac adapter isnt part of the recall, then its probably not part of the recall and Dell probably won't replace it. And i guess the systems out of warranty, so they probably won't replace it under warranty either. You could try getting in touch with the Customer Advocacy department and seeing what they say, but i'd say you'll be stuck paying for a new one.

the p/n of the adapter is 9364U, it is included on the AC adapter recall.
